Really enjoyed the beginning, but just lost interest over time. The middle lacks any tension.

Our Evenings by Alan Hollinghurst was beautiful. It was quiet. It was poignant. It was elegant. It was like watching a master musician at work. David Win was portrayed in such a humanistic way that we all feel sometimes. I didn’t want to stay in his life. I didn’t want the story to keep going. But I was excited to feel the life he lived and I don’t think I have ever read something so beautifully written. A symphony at work.

Interesting read about a gay Burmese man in the English theater. It’s a unique perspective spanning almost his whole life. Sections on race, wanting to be loved, and sexuality really cut to it.
