Loved this. Broken down by each month and what you can expect to find happening to oaks through the seasons and what insects and birds are doing with the trees throughout this time. Definitely encouraging me to try planting some acorns myself!

Interesting but the book spends more time on bugs than on oaks, and I wish there was more information on the actual tree.

Unfortunately, this is not a book about oak trees, it's a book about insects that are somehow related to oak trees. As an example, the author spends more words on walking sticks than he does on acorns. If you want to read a book on oak trees, this is not it.

A love song to the oak written by an entomologist, this has totally changed the way I look at caterpillars. Fabulous piece of work.
