Not as captivating as the first two books in the series. This short book fills in the backstory of Fermin the rascal and the forestory of Daniel Martin the pulp fiction writer. Builds on the previous books but doesn't stand alone and doesn't seem finished. Still liked reading it though!

An excellent sequel to The Shadow of the Wind. This book mostly follows the fortunes of Fermín Romero de Torres from way before he met Daniel to some decades after. I don't want to say too much because the story is too rich to describe. But if you're following The Cemetery of Forgotten Books you must include this one. And if you're not following the series you should!
