I won this book in a GoodReads giveaway in exchange for a review.

I found this book interesting in its storytelling. The pacing was good.  I enjoyed how it weaved in other animals into the story.   There is an underlying commentary on religion.   I found some of that kind forced at times.  Overall, it was an interesting story, and you could read this and call it done.  There is a hint at more, but not something you necessarily need to feel completed.

I received a copy of this ebook in a Goodreads giveaway. I was unsure about this at first as there were a lot of POVs to keep straight, but as I got into it I really enjoyed all the different perspectives and where the story went.

I really liked this. It was a little confusing to get into at first, but once you figure out some of the backstory, it gets very interesting. I’ve actually never read a book from an animal’s POV, which could’ve caused some of my confusion at the beginning. I thought it was fitting that predator animals are called landlords and prey are tenants, based on the way so many landlords treat tenants and are so surprised when tenants fight back. One aspect I liked is that in this dystopian society where humans are all dead, the animals made use of and created new names for human-made objects.
I did NOT see it coming when Anastasia was the one who ended up killing another. She was constantly so against it, so I figured someone else would do it and then she’d want to unwarren them like her mother did to her.

Overall, it was a fun read!

I won this book from a goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review.

This was a great read. I love the perspective of humans being extinct and different animal species taking on the roles in society. It's very Fox 8 meets Animal Farm. I look forward to reading the next book.
