In true Katie Reus style, we are treated to an action packed romantic suspense. Grant Caldwell is recovering from a job related accident. Burns over a portion of his body, he has not yet come to terms with it all. He hears his next door neighbor as she is being manhandled and comes to her aid. Belle is a strong, independent woman, and she sees Grant for who he is. Thankful for his help, the two have instant chemistry. But this isn't the end! Belle is continually being stalked and Grant is doing everything he can to keep her safe. But can he? Even with Red Stone Security behind him, danger is lurking. And now their hearts are invested in it as well. I love Katie Reus's writing style. She can pull me into a story and keep me captivated from start to finish. This team of characters is fantastic and I am loving the series. Pyper Down gives a good performance and makes it an fun listen.

Grant Caldwell loved being a cop, but after a explosion during a drug bust leaves him scarred he finds himself hiding out in his house and wondering what direction he life will go. Enter new neighbor Belle Manikas.

Belle, a OB/Gyn nurse, moves next door to Grant to finally make her independent stance with her family. Too bad, her independent streak is marred by a stalker that her sexy neighbor is determined to save her from. Too bad it seems her stalker has more to do with getting Grant back in the game than coming after her.

I LOVED this addition to the Red Stone Security series. Grant is perfect as the scarred hero, all broody and bitter while still honor bound to protect those that need it. Unfortunately, all Grant saw of himself now was the scars from the blast and not the man he is at his core. That's why Belle was his perfect woman. She saw past the scars, immediately to see just what kind of man Grant was.

I enjoyed the storyline with the serial killer managing to pull Grant out of his pity party and working for Red Stone. It was a little disturbing to think a serial killer could obtain the name and address of a ex-cop in hopes of continuing his game, but it totally kept you on the edge of your seat...which was a lot of fun.

Awesome, awesome read.

This book was exactly what I wanted from this series. It was perfect - Belle, Grant, the romance, the scarred (literally) hero and heroines and the action (which made the whole book not just great, but magnificent).

I loved it so so much and I am kind of surprised, knowing that the first one didn't impress me. I don't know what to think about the 3rd book because the couple is already in love and married so what's the point of writing a book about them? But who knows, maybe Katie Reus will surprise me.

This is my second favourite story from this series..
Grant and Belle..

It was incredibly nice to see an alpha male like Grant in a vulnerable and insecure state..It was so beautiful to see a woman build up the confidence in the man,and not the other way around which is the coomn thing to happen..

Belle is just so beautiful and pure..She exudes kindness and love, even from the pages of the book..She is the epitome of beauty..From her way of thinking to the lack of filter in her mouth (so many funny scenes because of that!) and her gentle way of touching people, without even planning on it..

It takes Grant a lot of time to figure things out,though..And I must admit that I loved him for it..Grant Caldwell is an amazing man..Not because he is hot or overprotective or so decent..But because he doesn't know it..He is strong but he doesn't realize it..What he does realize is Belle..And she becomes his strength and his heart..

They are 2 beautiful people, who make an equally beautiful couple..They complete each other perfectly..She is soft and sweet, when he is hard( not only on that part, ladies!) and relentless and so powerful..

I loved their story..One of the best stories of the series..

I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley but all opinions provided are my own.

I just discovered Katie Reus this year, and what I love about her books is that they’re pulse-pounding, with a keen sense of drama and two main characters who can’t keep their hands off each other. Danger Next Door is no exception to this, and I really enjoyed reading this book in an older but new-to-me series.

Grant Caldwell is six months out from an explosion that left him severely scarred. Since then, he’s been a bit of a shut-in, at least until he meets the girl next door, Belle Manikas. Before he knows it, he’s swept into the mystery of who keeps trying to attack her and why, anddddd lost in her and the new relationship they’ve started.

Grant and Belle are combustible together. There’s an immediate attraction, and Reus portrays it well. I couldn’t wait to see what happened between them, and how it would bring both of them into the light.

But there were a couple of things that I liked less, including the questionable lengths that Grant went to to protect Belle, especially at the end of the book. His efforts to do so did end up saving her life, but there have to be boundaries, right? I felt like he could have been more honest about his efforts. And the identity of the attacker was a bit of a let-down for me.

Still, Danger Next Door was a searing, thoroughly enjoyable read.
