I'm very confused by what's going on. There are too many characters trying to talk at once. The audiobook narrator is always shouting. I think I will try this book again, another time.

i didn’t connect to any of the characters of this book. i found it strange that a lover kept calling his partner a child. a vampire cat fell in love with a ghost after like 2 days? the only ones slightly engaging were the reaper and the angel, i believed their love. i didn’t understand any of this. and that’s not the fault of olivie or the book. but god help me. wtf did i read?

I can’t help myself, I’m a sucker for found family and Olivie Blake. Her writing is gorgeous but SO incredibly wordy that I don’t know what’s going on half the time, but I’m having such a good time that I don’t care how confused I am. This story was super unique and fun and I really enjoyed the cast of characters, I think that the best part of her books are the characters that she creates and this had such a fun group of characters. It was also laugh out loud funny, so witty and the dialogue was hilarious to me, Raphael and Gabriel actually cracked me up almost every time they came up. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend her books to just anyone because I understand they aren’t for everyone and not everyone will get it, but I’m happy to say that I am one of the people that just get it and it works for me every time. <3
