Wow, oh wow! That’s was one fine and epic read! All I can say is, do NOT read this one in the dark. The story seeped into my dreams. *shudders*

I’m not typically a fan of Sci-Fi, but it’s been so long since I read a good Dystopian novel. This one absolutely blew my mind! Such a short and amazing read. Highly recommended!

Excellent story, the action was believable, story and world building easy to follow and understand, and it made me bark in unexpected laughter!
Gotta love Drav :)

One Question: with an underground world of full of testosterone men, with no females, for hundreds of years... hmm did they actually not ever become interested in each other? Are they really that innocent?

I would say it was the only inconsistent part for me, but everything else was top notch!

Wow. This book. This story. This world pulled me in straight away. It starts quite innocently with tremors in another country and college girl being interested in them. Nothing unusual right? Until the tremors start to happen in US too. And after the tremors weird big dogs start to appear.

By chapter three I had goosebumps. It was getting that good already.

Mya is a normal college student, fighting her way through finals and missing her family. I loved her relationship with her brother. From the beginning you can tell they are close. #Freaksbyblood

I also really liked her way of thinking. She wanted to panic but was pushing it down, but at the same time wasn't a badass heroine that suddenly knew how to shoot and kill. She was more real.

Ms Haag created a masterpiece of an apocalyptic world. Dog like creatures spreading infection that makes people attack healthy. And HIM. Can you have a crush on a creature not from your normal world? That is not really handsome or hot but has that Something? Well I guess you can because I'm crushing real hard in him.

I cannot wait for the next part. I really want more. Like now please?

Definitely a 5 star read!

M.J. Haag NEVER Disappoints!

I got through this RATHER quickly. And I've decided I'm just going to save myself some unnecessary suspense anxiety and jump right into book 2

This book was absolutely phenomenal. I can only speak from personal experience, but I was hooked from the start and could not put it down. When I finally did finish I was already finding the next book in the series. I absolutely loved this book!

Surprisingly good

I don’t know what I was expecting when I chose to read this book, but it exceeded my expectations. I really liked that there were “zombies” and I liked the whole apocalyptic feel it had. As for the characters, Drav was such a sweetie. Well, as sweet as a gropy, bossy, and a i’ll rip your head off demon-like creature can be. Mya was an okay lead, and the interactions between her and Drav were seriously funny. This book is for people who want to read something different from the norm. I definitely recommend and I’ll be reading the next book:)

5 stars - THRILLING

I was on the edge of my seat for the first part of the book, when the hellhounds and fey were first released from the underworld. Mya was really realistic in her responses, making me feel like I was seeing the world through her eyes. I felt nervous and anticipated what would come next as the first few humans turned to zombies, it was really thrilling. There was a breakdown of essential services as they were quickly overrun, roundup of survivors and military protection. The fey really spiced up the book - I liked the addition where they couldn't understand or speak English until they heard the word once before, it was really unique and interesting.

I am really hooked on this series and I'm excited to re-read it soon!
