The plot of the book had me so excited but then the love triangle came in and I don’t even know if it ended up being a love rectangle but it got confusing romance wise. I enjoyed Sonia and her story but once again, the romance I felt was all over the place.

3.5 stars. I didn't really buy why Sonia and Candice didn't talk for so long (and how easily it resolved) but a fun read and definitely worked for the comparisons to While You Were Sleeping (although more serious and less rom com-y/funny).

This was a good palate cleanser, the book was fun to read and I did like a lot of the aspects of the book. It came together in the end which made me like it even more, but I felt like a lot of the conflicts or relationships in the book could've been drawn out more to emphasize it. I loved the premise but I did wish it had more depth into it, especially since it's concept was something I've never read before.

Sonia and Niam's relationship truly made me giggle and smile throughout the book, theyre just mega cute! At first I seriously thought she was going to be with James, which wouldn'tve been the best decision, but I was happily wrong in this case. I really just wished they got more moments with each other, same goes for her relationship with her sister and her conflict with Candice. Each are good conflicts on its own but by making all of it equal it felt a bit lacking to me.

This book had the potential to be great, but it was trying so hard to capture a teen voice that it missed the mark.
Also, get a copy editor—missing words was bad enough but getting an important character’s name wrong (especially when you are trying to make a point about names) =☠️☠️☠️

The Story:

Navigating family, friends, romantic relationships and keeping secrets isn’t easy. Sonia knows this first hand. While this wasn’t a thriller I was shocked at several turns. This was a great story, complex but not overly dependent on teen angst. I would love to see another from this world.
