This is the third book on “The Cruel Prince” series that follows Jude Duarte as the new High Queen of Elfhame. The story is more dangerous and tenacious. The political world was in chaos because of Cardan’s Reign and the prophecy. It was cunning yet I love every detail of it all. The betrayal probably is the most topic of it all. The slow burn sexual tension of Jude and Cardan was so frustrating. I thought there will be more since this was the last one but nothing. I expected so much but I was actually disappointed. But nonetheless, it was still such a great story.

This genre is a comfort genre to me, its the genre of books that got me into reading originally, though I have never read anything by this particular author before. I very much enjoyed the story of this trilogy, the twists and turns, and a lot of the characters and the way they were developed. I found myself disappointed when I finished the last book wanting more from this world in which the characters lived. I need to try get back into more fantasy books because I thoroughly enjoyed this series.

I loved this book so much, it just took me almost 100 pages before I got really into it, and It might be because I took breaks in between reading but honestly this book was just amazing to read. It was so good that I didn't want to put it down but I also did because I didn't want to finish the book and the world, their characters and lives to all be over. But eventually I just sat down and read just over two hundred pages in one day cause that's how into the book I was.

I would recommend reading the first two book first (obviously) to understand this book but I thoroughly enjoyed the writing, the character devolvement and the revel of traitors and the exciting but very welcomed twist and turns that were around every corner. I loved this book to bits and I would have given it 5 stars, but it just took me a while to fully get into it, but I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who will listen to me talk about it.
