This was a great addition to the series. This book surprised me. I thought it would be similar to the last one in terms of being mostly about politics but it was not. I was glad that there were twists and turns that I was definitely not expecting

like Carden turning into a giant snake??

a very tense conclusion! loved the more romance in this book it was great! the s book has not left my mind since i read it. Jude is so amazing but newly raw in this book - we get to learn a bit about her deeper emotions bere and it’s truly very captivating. this was my favorite of the trilogy.

if i could give this book a 6, definitely my favorite in the series, and in my top 3 overall, the characters are just so lovable/hatable and the politics are complex but not confusing. theres good representation of LGBTQ couples, and interracial couples (sorta) and theres actually black characters for once in a fantasy. excellent book, excellent representation, beautiful writing. definitely would recommend to anyone interested in a good fantasy read.

To be honest, the book is ass. A few years ago I almost rated it 5 stars but that was just my love for Jurdan and the fairies speaking.

Nothing much happens, and whatever does is too convenient. The writing is so repetitive. Jude is passive and uninteresting, Cardan is absent for most of the novel. Actually, Jude is straight up dumb in this one. Frustrating how she couldn't solve the simplest riddles living in this world for so long (and it happens 3(!) times).

I don't know, whatever, it exists. Not much to say.
