I've read, heard and studied this story many times, but never felt what Joseph felt like this before.

Cute, quick read

This book took less than a day to read. Very cute story, but like another review said, it felt as if Evans was rushing to get the story told. There was a lot of potential to go deeper with character plots, but they were forgone in order to tell the story of a modern day Joseph. However,I still enjoyed the book for a quick read.

- Oftentimes it's the smallest, seemingly inconsequential acts that make the biggest differences in our lives.
- Life's greatest lessons are often those we most wished to avoid.
- You will encounter obstacles. You will make mistakes. Be grateful for both. Your obstacles and mistakes will be your greatest teachers. And the only way to not make mistakes in this life is to do nothing, which is the biggest mistake of all.
-Your challenges, if you'll let them, will become your greatest allies. Mountains can crush or raise you, depending on which side of the mountain you choose to stand on.

I absolutely loved this book (I read it in one sitting). I know the storyline from the Bible but this retelling was just spot on.

Richard Paul Evans is one my favorite authors to read when I just need a pick-me-up book. The excerpts at the top of this review are just some that I will always want to remember.

No one ever said life would be easy, just that it would be worth it.

The Biblical story of Joseph and his brothers takes on a new scene in A winter Dream. Joseph's family owns an ad agency. The older brothers are jealous of joseph's creative genius and decide to use Ben as their way of getting Joseph out of the company and their lives. Although you know how the story ends, Richard Evans takes liberties and turns a famous story into a romantic, heartwarming novel.

This is a quick read as most of Richard's books are. I think that is why I continue to read his works. They are uplifting, clean, humorous and have life situations that the reader can relate to.

Richard Evans is a great storyteller and this was a modern version of Joseph and coat along with the brothers from the Bible returning home. (Liked the jealous step brother part as it is very realistic). The story was about overcoming obstacles and everything is not as it appears. We learn from our mistakes and the gift of forgiveness. Not crazy about the girlfriend who was running away from polygamist tie in and would have preferred a different take; however, all in all was a good read.

Richard Paul Evans' latest novel, A Winter Dream, was an enjoyable read for me. However, I was mildly disappointed in that it seemed to lack some of the creativity or originality of previous novels of his that I have read. The story closely followed the scriptural account of Joseph, son of Jacob, right down to the names, except that it was set in modern day times. It went by fast, but left me with some interesting thoughts about context and possible back story to the account of Joseph and his brothers in the Old Testament. Other than that, it was mostly mind candy.

A touching tale that reminded me of the old testament story Joseph and the coat of many colors. Although Joe's jealous siblings force him out of the family business, he soon finds great success as the chief advisor to a CEO. Then the economy takes a downward turn and Joe siblings come crawling back begging for his help in saving the family business.

A winter dream by Richard Paul Evans
Family fate and forgiveness. The thirteen children all work for the family business but joseph, the 12th. It comes to a head one day when his parents are traveling and the others have found one brother has stolen money from the company.
The others want to prosecute the brother. One brother has a solution.
He has to start a new life in another city-a rival to the family business and it's interesting how this resembles Joseph and the coat of many colors. Love the walking tour of the city as it's yet one we have visited.
What I especially like is that he's able to help those in family business.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

You know I love a good Christmas story - though this wasn't really a Christmas story, but the cover fooled me.

I really liked Joseph's story up until the ending. The ending was rushed and extremely unbelievable. Seriously, his brother's didn't even recognize him because he wore sunglasses? That makes no sense. I also believe his brothers did not deserve his forgiveness. It really annoyed me after that point.

As far as the beginning, no way would I let myself be banished from my family without a fight. Especially when the youngest brother was 100% in the wrong and should have paid for his actions.

Now, I'm not a very religious person, so I didn't see how this was a modern re-telling of a bible story...but apparently it was.

Anyways, if you're looking for a quick and easy read - this is the book for you during the holiday season.
