There are so many historical romances available that it's sometimes hard to determine which will provide you with the better read. I found this to be a very enjoyable, original take on the genre. The characters are original & easy for me to picture in my mind as I read. The story is intriguing and provides plenty of twists and unexpected events. If you read this you won't be disappointed.

I liked the main characters when they weren’t second guessing each other based on the words of people basically known to be untrustworthy. The ‘mystery’ element was somewhat predictable to me. Okay book but I liked some of her other books far more.

I only regret giving this 3 stars because it's already screwing up my recommendations and Goodreads thinks I like historical romances now. Other than that, it was okay. I like the side plots more than the actual romance.
