It was nice to read about a girl who wasn't thin and perfect. As a woman who has had weight issues all my life I could totally relate to how she was feeling.

Him being turned off at the idea of being with a big girl, and constantly saying something about how he normally wouldn’t be with a big girl but since it involved money, he was okay with it, really pissed me off. I get that the weight is an issue for most people in general, but it just seemed unnecessary to continuously say she’s big and I never would actually be with her.
I over all enjoyed this book. I do wish that in the future when there's a plus size heroine, she's actually comfortable with her body. There are plus size women (myself included) who are comfortable with their bodies and do think they're sexy, and we are not surprised someone is attracted to us. Devin was an OK a hero. His temper was a little out of whack and he was a bit wishy washy but overall he was okay. I am definitely interested to see where this series will go.
Couldn't get into it, characters where flat and not interesting.
I love books about big girls when they are done right. "On the Plus Side" has the perfect mix of realness (she's insecure and can joke about her size, but not annoying about it) and steamy fantasy (those hotttttt scenes with Devin!!!!) for me. I loved Lilly. She was such a sweet and genuine person to read about.
This is a quick read that goes deep without being too intense, and if you have a heart, it will leave you with a smile!

Devin, a hot guy playboy who is trying to save his father's home and garage from the bank.

Lilly, a plus-sized beauty with a heart of gold and loaded.

And no one was more deserving of that love than Lilly. She had gone through all of the torment and bullying as a kid and teenager but still had so much in her heart to give to people.
A proposition by Lilly's mother brings them together. Soon, Devin finds himself falling for the big and beautiful Lilly, but as always, the deal comes to bite Devin in the ass.
This was a predictable story but a nice, easy read with a HEA.

Well, I was in tears a lot of this. Why? Because I connected with this story. I am no skinny girl. I know what it's like to be made fun of because of your weight. I know what it's like to either laugh at the fat jokes or get angry at them. I know what it's like to be so self conscience you'll never believe a "hot" guy would like you.
I, for one, hated Lilly's mom. I think people want to believe that she was coming from a good place, but what the hell did she think was going to happen? SHE PAID DEVIN TO DATE HER DAUGHTER!! 3 months is long enough to develop feelings. Did she want to see Lilly with a broken heart? She just pissed me off so much.
Okay, so let me back up a bit. Devin lives with his dad and sister and they own an auto shop and live on the same property. His dad sucks at the books and well, they are going to lose both the shop and the house if they don't come up with the money in 90 days. Devin ends up at the bank asking for an extension and he runs into Lilly's mom who offers him a proposition. She'll pay off his loan if he dates her daughter for 90 days.
Devin is this hottie playboy, but it's an offer he can't refuse--he has to save his family home and shop. There's no way he'd develop feelings for a fat girl. Yeah, well little by little Lilly cracks his walls and the playboy falls hard.
It was so beautiful to watch. However, I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Boy, did it ever. I was crushed. Did I mention I hate her mother?
I absolutely LOVED Lilly. Hot damn, I wish I could be like her. Strong, confident, NICE and sweet, selfless, beautiful, and the perfect woman. My heart ached for what happened to her. I wanted to throw up reading it. Mean girls. They make me sick. When Lilly first meets Devin at the cafe and he asks her what kind of guy he is I bawled. The last sentence killed me. I know that insecurity and it hurts my heart.
I could not get enough of Jenny. I freakin' loved her. She was so funny and I loved how she accepted Lilly into the family so easily and called her for stuff.
Overall, fantastic story. My only complaint

Did the boys that tried to rape Jenny and beat the shit out of Lilly ever go to jail?I could not get enough of Jenny. I freakin' loved her. She was so funny and I loved how she accepted Lilly into the family so easily and called her for stuff.

I wish Devin would have told Lilly sooner! I don't understand why he held it off. Honesty is the best policy, right? Oh and I wanted Lilly to punch Renee in the face and break her nose again.
I loved this book! Sure there were some editing issues but not enough to hinder my enjoyment. Devin had the makings of an alpha male and started out as the jerk-that-I-loved but I ended up loving him and rooting for him to get his HEA. There was enough angst in this story to keep me happy and enough drama to keep me interested. Practically inhaled this story in one sitting, I can't wait for Shannon's book to come out. This one is a keeper and its going on my favourite shelf :)
First off, I’m totally going to start this off and say I’m a chunky girl myself. Proud, confident, and self-assured I was excited to read about another plus sized gal finding love. Trust me honey, these Missouri boys just ain’t cutting it for me. So I did love Lilly in certain ways. She’s plus sized and insecure about her weight, but confident about her social and working areas in her life. She has good friends and lives life to the fullest. She’s incredibly sweet and when Devin walks into her jewelry store, she’s flattered by his attention and kind of immediately falls for him.
Now Devin, oye. A bit of backstory - Devin’s family is getting ready to lose everything. Lilli’s family is loaded so when Lilli’s mom overhears of Devin’s money problems, she approaches him with a proposition. She will pay him to pretend to be her boyfriend. He is honestly a nice boy and finds this behavior distubing, but he ultimately decides he can spend time with Lilli, get money and no one is hurt.
I had two huge pet peeves with this story. First off, I kind of resented the idea that Lilli had to have a boy paid to be her boyfriend. I know the point was that ultimately it wasn’t needed, but it was so dang crazy of her mom to even think of. I don’t resent Devin but the idea a mom would do this boils my blood. I don’t know if we are supposed to like the mom or not, but throughout the story I disliked her immensely.
Secondly, while I liked Devin and think he redeemed himself ultimately in the end, I hated how he kept referring to her weight. It seemed like whenever we were in his head he was referencing her weight, what she looked like, and how her chunkiness would impact his life. Over and Over and Over. Maybe boys think like this, I don’t know, maybe it was done to show he was insecure, but in my opinion it was a little overdone. We know she was heavy, let’s get over it.
On to the positive stuff, I am so happy the plus size romance heroine got her man! I liked their journey, it seemed like life kept throwing things in their way and they worked through it. Beyond the repetition of the weight, I liked how Devin viewed Lilli. He loved how she was kind and how she wanted to get involved with his family. I think the relationships began with Devin’s family were realistic and honestly, Devin’s relationships with Lilli’s friends seemed incredibly real to me too.
I guess what I’m trying to say in this long review, while I had a few problems with certain aspects of the book, I honestly enjoyed it. I loved the epilogue with Devin and Lilli and when I finished I was left with a big old smile. If you can get past the crazy mother and the mentions of poundage, you are left with an incredibly lovely romance filled with friends, hope and love. I’m looking forward to what Tabatha comes up with next and I’ve gotta admit, I hope Devin and Lilli at least make a cameo!

Loved this book! The characters are well written, with real flaws and real feelings. You can't help but sympathize with even the hard awful mother.
Lilly has such courage and is stronger than people give her credit for.
