Book 7 of the “Dead Is” series finds Jessica embroiled in a Battle of the Bands. Many of the musicians in the competition begin disappearing, acting strangely, getting hurt, and even dying. Jessica and the other viragos in Nightshade need to find out who the deadly pied piper is before anything else happens. Fans of the series will enjoy this musical mystery, but it also stands alone for new readers. The mystery itself is well plotted, and while the clues given do lead to the perpetrator, not enough evidence is given for the motive and the connection between the killer and the scenario.
