She wanted Rafe Easton to regret having taken her as a mistress instead of a wife.

Eve and Rafeโ€™s journey left me shattered, then delicately pieced together the fragments of my heart until it overflowed. The Pembrook brothers are acquainted only with suffering, and it's the women who mend them that emerge as the genuine heroes of the narrative. This installment stood out as my absolute favorite a fitting conclusion to an extraordinary series that will linger in my memory for a long while.

Wickedly Captivating and Heartwarming!

Rafe Easton, the brooding third brother, steps into the spotlight with a heart encased in ice and a soul shadowed by past betrayals. His life of solitude is disrupted when Evelyn Chambers enters his world. Sold to Rafe by her own half-brotherโ€”totally scandalous, right? But Evelyn is no damsel in distress. She's fiery and resilient, and she refuses to let her spirit be crushed.

Rafe and Evelyn's chemistry is off the charts. Their banter is sharp and filled with tension. I loved this exchange: "You infuriate me," Evelyn snaps. And Rafe, with his smoldering gaze, replies, "And you fascinate me." You can just feel the sparks flying!

What's really touching is the bond between Rafe and his brothers, Sebastian and Tristan. Despite all their past traumas, their loyalty to each other is unbreakable. It adds so much depth to the story.

Heath's vivid prose and rich character development make this book emotional. She really knows how to pull you into the story. Lord of Wicked Intentions is all about redemption and the power of love to heal even the most wounded hearts.

โ€œIf any of you touch her, I shall separate from you the particular part that touched her.โ€

โ€œTo think: this cannot be my life. It is not where I was headed, and yet . . . it is where I have arrived. To survive, you learn to make the best of it. Itโ€™s not easy. Itโ€™s not what you want, but you can still own it, make it yours.โ€

โ€œDo not hesitate to ask me for items that you want. Because I promise I will not hesitate to take what I require of you.โ€

โ€œIt seems you have superb taste.โ€
โ€œI have you, donโ€™t I?โ€

He had not missed her, because he was not in the habit of missing people. But he had thought of her constantly, continually.

โ€œWhen Iโ€™m hurt, when Iโ€™m ill, when Iโ€™m on my deathbed.โ€

โ€œWhat if she wins your heart?โ€
โ€œShe would first have to find it.โ€

โ€œIf I were the sort to spout poetry,โ€ he finally said, โ€œI would spout it for you.โ€

โ€œWhat do you do when youโ€™re not here?โ€ she asked.
โ€œPurchase you jewelry.โ€
She rolled her eyes.

โ€œNever let anyone know how badly you want something. It gives them an advantage.โ€

โ€œMy father taught me that when you flip a coin, there is always a second, just before it lands, when you think either heads or tails. And thatโ€™s when you truly know what you want the outcome to be.โ€

โ€œDo you care about me?โ€ sheโ€™d asked.
With every breath I take.

๐ŸŽง The audiobook is a worthy listen. I will be adding it to the replay collection.
๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Faye Adele is a phenomenal voice actor that brought every character to life.

Troubled hero .
innocent heroine at her brothers mercy. Who sold her to the highest bidder as a mistress.

Didn't like the background of the story other than that pretty good.

A competent if if not too inspiring take on the jaded nobleman/gambling house owner who recaptures his lost ability to love through the love of a beautiful innocent woman.

My first Heath 5 star! Rafe and Evie were just perfection. Dark tortured hero and a heroine who falls for is broken heart. I'm so glad these brothers got happy endings. This is a very dark book and it does involve forced child labor and a death from that.

It was a nice book but slow and kinda boring. I remember really liking the first two books in this series but this one just was not to my liking. Eve was very compliant and boring. I wish she was little more interesting.

Dark hero with troubled soul and difficult past; innocent heroine with tainted background who is left at the mercy of an evil half brother. I enjoyed the buildout of love between the two and their final get together. Overall a very satisfying read.
