The author tried to do something different by not writing the book in chronological order; in my opinion, this change did not pay off. This was a typical thriller novel, and while it wasn't a bad read, it wasn't anything spectacular

This was good! The first 100 pages I was kind of bored and didn’t understand why it was told the way it was. As the story went on and it was unraveling I was invested and wanted to know what happened. I do have to say nothing was really shocking.

As a big fan of thrillers and mysteries, I was really intrigued by the idea of one told in reverse, particularly - as the blurb implied, or at least to me? - the protagonist was discovering some of the secrets along with the reader. I definitely wasn't let down by the form, it was really interesting and a creative way of changing things up! I do think the plot was quite predictable, and not all of it made complete sense to me? But I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I was afraid at the beginning of this book that the whole story-out-of-order thing was going to be gimmicky, but I was totally hooked. The writing isn't overly flowery, but it absolutely kept me on my toes. The main character totally needs to get herself together, which felt really real and human. Would def read this one again because I imagine it's a different experience in book form. It would also be interesting to read it in the correct order.

The timespan of the book runs backwards which is confusing to digest. The plot twist of who killed Corrinne was a surprise but I still found the overall story lacklustre and the characters a bit thin. The protagonist Nic was messy. I probably liked Laura the most but even she had a dark side. 2.5 stars
