So good. So, so good! I don't want to say too much in the review because the suspense and the unknown are so important to the way this novel works. The way the mystery is set up from the beginning and throughout is great - giving just enough away, giving just enough clues, each day to keep the reader rapt. The two main events weaving together and connecting the characters pasts with their presents.

I also loved the way the story started at the end and you learned about the characters and their individual stories backwards. I have never read a story written like this before. I absolutely recommend this book!

(Ebook received as a Netgalley advanced readers copy)

This book was difficult for me to read. It isn't a bad book, but the layout of the plot and timeline was the trouble. This story is told backwards. We get a part of the story, then start going back in time one day at a time. I put the book down quite a few times as it felt like I missed parts because of this structure. That is just my personal struggle with the book and it may be of no consequence to you.

Aside from the timeline, I felt like Nic was a truly unlikable character. The entire story she seems wishy-washy and woe is me.
SpoilerShe leaves a successful life to come back to a high school boyfriend? I don't understand. I won't go into more spoilers for the whodunnit aspect, but none of these characters are innocent or good people.

All in all, I am glad I finished this book and never have to pick it up again. It was a good one time mystery read that took me two months to finish. Three stars because it wasn't cringingly awful but it also didn't have me on the edge of my seat.

This book took forever for me to finish, it was so incredibly boring for the first 75%. It was egregiously difficult to follow reading the story backwards, plus a silly ending to top it off.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me a copy of this book to review.

I was immediately pulled into this book! I loved it! It kept me on my toes enough that I wanted to keep reading. I loved the way that the story started at the end and then told the remaining story backwards. I don't think I've ever read a book that was written like that, which made it a very interesting read.

I really liked the mystery in the book. Nicolette has gone back to her home town to settle some family business. She ran away after a traumatic event happened right before graduation. While she is at home, another huge event happens in the small town. I liked trying to find out who did "it" and why.

Nicolette was a character that I liked at first, but then as I learned more of the story I began to not like her at all. It was kind of that way with all the characters. You liked them mostly at first until you learned more about them.

I will definitely be on the lookout for any other books by Megan Miranda!

All through the beginning and middle, it felt like every other book where a girl goes missing in a small town. I was pleasantly surprised by the ending and the book kept me on my toes. It was well written! My only qualm is that I wish the beginning had more differentiating qualities.

May have enjoyed more if reading instead of  listening to the audiobook - the reverse story structure was confusing to follow at times with only listening,
