This book was alright. I initially thought the alien descriptions of human things was cute (you're right! Clothes are weird! What strange social constructs we've created for ourselves!), but then it kept up, item after item, interaction after interaction, and became quite grating. The main character's take on humanity was actually quite hopeful and refreshing-- I did leave the book with a renewed sense of wonder-- but I don't know of Matt Haig's writing is for me. He sure does like to hit you over the head with things.

This was not what I was expecting at all, in a really good way. It was much darker and emotional than I thought it was going to be. I really enjoyed it.
