Just a delightful read with loveable characters. It might be a children's book, but there's a magical element in it for everyone.
In a year as dark as 2020, this book was a ray of light. It honestly changed my life. I spent almost every evening in my third semester of college, snuggling up in my dorm room and diving into the world of the 100 acre woods.
I found Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and everyone else had lots to say about life — things we take for granted, the things we worry about, the things we don’t consider important. The way in which the characters viewed life make me step back and examine the way *I* looked at it. Why do I take myself so seriously? What truly matters? Why do I care about that? ... and so on.
The stories are pure magic and hilarious too. I laughed out loud more times than I could count. Such precious, childlike characters who also hold such wisdom. Brilliant. I could rave for hours.
A.A. Milne is truly a talented author and has quickly become one of my favs. I’m so glad I took the time to visit the book that contains the stories from my childhood. And I look forward to rereading over again as well as reading many more.

What’s special about Winnie the Pooh—in addition to all of the other many things that are special about Winnie the Pooh—is his capacity to make you feel a multitude of emotions about something you didn’t expect to have very many emotions about.
There’s so much whimsy and childish clumsiness in these stories, and it really is a gift to get to read them as an adult. The playful irony is wonderful, for starters, but Milne’s stories are also just so very pleasant to read, especially with Shephard’s infinitely charming drawings. And then, of course, it all sneaks up on you and delivers a sucker punch of emotion to the gut. The ending to these takes is steeped in nostalgia and sadness and a deep well of hope, and I didn’t know how badly I needed that until closing the cover tonight. ❤️

Re-reading a classic from my childhood has proved that it is just as much a classic in my adulthood.
3.5 - I didn't love this as much as I did when I was a child, but it was definitely fun to be back in the Hundred Acre Wood again, especially after seeing the recent films.
This was such a fun read aloud. It is charming and funny and I'm so glad I finally read it.
