i hated travis in archer’s voice. i hated him so much with my whole heart for what he’s done.

and as much as i hated him, i also could see why he felt the way he did. it doesn’t excuse his actions whatsoever, but i understood him. he was just a child when that tragedy happened. small child influenced by his mother’s hatred that lead to a life full of wrongs.

i think he got a good "redemption" if i can call it that at the end. he did a good thing for doing that.

and haven…she was protecting her heart. i’m glad both of them came to their own realizations because i could literally see the love between them in my head.

plant lady and the town's chief.

a beautiful book.

There were some parts were it was slow found myself skipping some of the lines to speed it along (plot dragged out). And at the same time there were part sin the book that were cut off too soon that I wanted to know more about. <What happened to Gage? What happened to Travis' mother?> The subplots weren't done justice. The ending (not the epilogue) was a little cringey sweet though. I like the idea of keeping your roots.

Absolutely phenomenal follow-up to Archer's Voice and the story of Travis Hale, the police chief and problem-child f*ck up of Pelion, ME. I LOVED hearing his story and it truly warmed my heart to see how much he's matured and personally developed. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to forgive him, but Mia has done it again and made me fall in love (we need more cat men on this planet! - THANK YOU!). 5/5, will read again and again! I love a good plant lady heroine!
