I liked the concepts being covered but the “young man” was insufferable and way too scripted.

Challenging but stick with it and it becomes well worth the effort.

Didn't like this companion book/sequel as much as To Be Disliked. Of course there were some valuable insights in Adlerian psychology, mainly about the part community plays within your own experience of life and growth as a person, but I wouldn't be surprised if many people will find these concepts hard to grasp. Like what is said in the final chapter, Adlerian psychology borders more towards philosophy than psychology which can turn a lot of people away.
