I loved this book so much, I'm not really sure what to say about it. I learned, I laughed, I cried of sadness and anger. Just a powerful, good book that I think everyone should read.

OUTSTANDING. Read it in a single day, I could not put it down. A must-read, especially for hearing people. Damn, that was a good story.

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning more about Deaf Culture. The only downside for me was that the ending felt too abrupt and anticlimactic but I understand why that was a choice that the author made.

I really loved most of this book. I think it was super interesting and getting to experience life as students who are deaf and also navigating high school (as well as their families) was really neat. There were some decisions made by the main character that felt a little unfitting or some plot lines that felt a little strange amongst the other problems happening in the book. I personally think it made the ending a bit unsatisfactory, and I left the book feeling a bit confused. Upon a second read and discussion with friends we were able to understand and tie things together more. I greatly enjoyed the book nonetheless and read it pretty quick.

I haven't watched Euphoria, so I'll compare this book to Elsa Sjunnesson's memoir Being Seen. It has hard-hitting personal stories and essays, and you'll love the characters and their signing even in the audiobook version! The crash course even includes some DeafBlindness as it speeds through the checklist of banned books, so you'll definitely learn something from this!

Holy shit did this book cover a lot of different subjects. Somehow it worked though. What a great great story and the way Deaf culture was interwoven without feeling awkward or out of place was truly masterful.
