This book was hilarious!

Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side was a pretty good book. Lucius and Jessica were a cute couple. When they were first getting to know each other I laughed when Jessica doubted him being a vampire. Then when she finally realized he wasn't lying or on drugs about the whole thing was hilarious. However, she took way too long to come to this realization.

Jessica in the beginning was kind of unlikable. I didn't really like the whole not wanting someone until other people want that person. It just rubbed me the wrong way so many times.. it was like nails on a chalkboard. Made me cringe.

Besides Jessica, I loved Lucius. Tall, dark, and brooding. Then there was the whole vampire thing with Lucius. Hilarious but hot damn.. she saw his fangs twice and still didn't come to the conclusion that he was a god damn vampire!! This girl would not be a great detective or police officer.

Now their relationship and chemistry was good. They were cute together but I liked Lucius a lot more when Jessica wasn't around. Then the ending was kind of okay to me.. I didn't see it going that way but hey, I still enjoyed the heck out of the book.

Overall, it was okay and I will probably dive into the next book if I find it.

I started out not so fond of this. It had a certain romance novel tone and I was very worried at the start. But by the middle, I decided to let it be. When I got to the last 10-12 chapters (they are very short), I couldn't put it down. This writer is funny, and not interested in making big points about relationships (I think).

It was funny, and sweet. What girl doesn't appreciate the tall, dark and handsome idol. This one has terrifically old-fashioned manners too, so it's not hard to understand why she should go for him, and that she will. The best part - it had none of the oppressive, hard-to-digest angst of the really recent famous vampire series. This one is cute and and light. Fluffy, yes. Read it anyway.

Fun new take on the whole vampire genre. I liked it, though I wish there was more development of a relationship between the two main characters. The title is a little misleading. The guide was a vampire guide that was only mentioned a few times and honestly, the dating advice mainly came from Lucius. His letters to his uncle were hilarious. For some reason, while reading, I kept hearing Adam Sandler's voice from Hotel Transylvania when Lucius spoke. This gave me a really weird, funny take on the character and I couldn't picture him as a teenage vampire. But, it did give me a good laugh. I liked the story enough to want to read the second book. I would recommend this for older teens. There is a little bit of language and some sensuous scenes and dialogue.

I bought this book thinking it sounded funny. I started it knowing that it was a re-do of a vampire book after the twilight craze - but I was really surprised with this book - I loved it all the way through, it's filled with good humor that you'll be laughing at from every second page and the Lucius becomes very lovable ^^ I was surprised to actually really like this book, I would recommend it (*warning! Spoilers*) I just didn't really like how at the end she just sort of ... LEFT everything behind... But the end fight scene (does it count as I fight scene????) was pretty good :) 4 1/2 stars

Someone said this was book was underrated and it’s so true! The description doesn’t do it justice. I lost count of the amount of times I laughed out loud. It was so smartly written and witty and sweet, with great character development. I smiled all the way through. Loved it.
