Man oh man, I didn’t think SJM could write anything better than ACOMAF (haven’t read ToG). But this, this was up there, both 5 stars in my opinion. This book was darker and more emotional, but in a great way
watching how Bryce navigated her life after Danika’s passing was so hard, however, very relatable and heartbreaking. Watching the light come back to her due to Hunt and the search for the killer was so enlightening, of course though SJM ripped my heart out with Hunt doing the deal on the docks.

Gosh… I would really love to give this book a 5 star rating but I honestly haaated the beginning of the book. It felt like almost 600 pages of building the plot.
But I loved the third part of the book, honestly one of the best I’ve read in a long time.

An emotional wreck that sparked feelings of euphoria in me. I can only explain the plot-twists as cliche and both not cliche. I love the bond between the characters. Main character is op. This also has the most holy friendship I’ve ever seen. When the attack on defender happened i wanted to wreck my soul in piece. Only minus was there was a lot of inappropriate language, but honestly the swear words and everything suited the book well. I loved the relationship between people. The plot is a chef’s kiss. 5/5 because it was super good. And the suspense was good to, and sacred Urd the foreshadowing is crazzzzyy. Like really messed up stuff that you remember mid story that wrecks the hole perspective of the book.

This book has lots of wonderful aspects to it. It's a fantastical murder mystery wrapped in a post modern magical world. The main character is standoff-ish, but social, walking the fine line of someone from two different worlds.

The main issues I had was mainly with the writing style more then anything. The amount of cuss words was markedly more then other books I have read, which is great...I guess I just felt like the writing wasn't as colorful as the characters/world/plot.

I would consider the first half of this book very slow paced and the other half very fast paced. 100% Worth it though

It took a day to get my emotions back to normal and off the rollercoaster they were on with this book. It was a little slow in the start in the book with the world building but soon it picked up and it was nonstop. I loved the back and fourth with between Bryce and Hunt well with Bryce and the other characters too.  I do have to say Ruhn is one of my favorite characters in this book along with Declan, Tristan and Isaiah. I really hope the next book will have just the same emotional rollercoaster this one had me on.
