Honestly, the second time reading this was even more fun than the first. I really picked up on the small kernels of info that SJM spreads throughout the book by re-reading it. This book contains one of my favorite scenes I’ve read in any book so far, and is the only book to make me bawl like a baby. Such a heartfelt ending ♥️

So so so good, really challenged my world building skills at the beginning but once I got a hang of it it went super fast! Of course the last 100 pages had every twist and turn imaginable and I loved every second of it. I thought no other SJM series could match up with ACOTAR for me, but I 100% fell in love with these characters and this world. 1,000,000/10!!

I was hesitant at first because for 800 pages… What do you have to say that requires all this?? Was it that serious to create an encyclopedia, babes??? 😐

Some scenes were unwarranted and felt like a page filler. Nonetheless, with each page flipped, my anticipation increased. I laughed and cried!!! Hunt…..The betrayal!!!! (I was rooting for you. We were all rooting for you🥹). Nevertheless, everything worked out. He won me back and Imma stick beside him 👁️👄👁️✌🏾

I have a difficult time rating this book because I did enjoy it but I have complaints! First, Maas has an exposition problem, and it’s actually not so bad in this one but this is the third book of hers I’ve read so now I notice it. This book so much backstory of both hierarchies and interpersonal drama this book, it really would have benefited from a prequel or at least a prologue. Instead, characters explain wars, etc. in conversations with each other. FINALLY in page 700 something we have a reasonable lil flashback actually describing the action instead of the laborious stilted dialogue, and the bad guy long-winded-ly explaining his motivations and Evil Plan (tm). Also, I really think the book would have been a lot more interesting if Bryce and Hunt weren’t so hot for each other. That being said, I couldn’t put the book down because the adventure and intrigue was captivating.
