I found the art horrifying. My niece makes me read it to her 20 times a day. Help.

I now see why Molly Lou Melon was one of Jen's choices for a representation of girl power in picture books. Molly Lou shows that you don't need to impress anyone else- you just need to be yourself! LOVE this book!

"Molly Lou Melon stood just taller than her dog and was the shortest girl in the first grade. She didn't mind. Her grandma had told her, "Walk as proudly as you can and the world will look up to you."

One of my favorite picture books. I love the message and David Catrow is a favorite illustrator of mine.

A sweet story about a girl who is wonderfully herself, and whose grandma has taught her to embrace everything about herself - from her short stature to her bucked teeth. And her pride in her individuality helps her win over new friends when she moves to school. Sweet pictures and a sweet story.

This adorable, lesser-known children's book would be great for a classroom read-aloud. Molly Lou Melon is feisty, and she resists the bullying and has confidence. She makes the most out of her differences and would be a fantastic role model for kids.

This book was one of my absolute FAVORITES as a kid! Now that I'm grown, I reread it and was reminded of why I loved it so much back then--and why I became the girl I am today.

Super cute! I like the way that Molly Lou Melon transforms each of her differences into strengths when dealing with a bully. A very strong, positive message for kids.
