I've been holding out hope that the series would get better with time but...each book is a bit of a carbon copy of the last with the lines blurred a bit. It is here at book 5 that I must give up my hope for better writing and storytelling and move on to another "easy read" series.

"I don't have chest hair, so I'll have to suffice with curling ass hair." <--This sums up the entirety of the series.
This is what everyone has been waiting for. Jessie will be coming face to face with Elliot Graves, and about damn time. Even though the reader (and Ivy House)knows Elliot and Sebastian are the same person , Jessie and the rest of the crew are still in the dark. The first part of the book is the team preparing for the meeting with Graves, and it really adds to Jessie's character arc for the series. She takes herself to the absolute limit, wanting to better herself for the good of the team and Ivy House. And face it; Jessie taking down the phoenix is epic.
The second half of the book is the actually meeting at Grave's mountain. It's funny AF that mages like to see whose dick is bigger with their magical pranks, though no one thought to give the memo to Jessie. The way she absolutely obliterated the place was comical. Even more so that the idiot mages assumed it was the rabid animals, and not the middle-aged perky woman. I'm so glad we get more of my favorite character(Sebastian) , and his antics and general reactions to everything Jessie's team does is highlight of the novel. He is enthralled with every action of her team yet also scared absolutely shitless at the same time.
And FINALLY.I didn't think Austin would ever win over Jessie's gargoyle so they could complete the mating. It was kinda sweet, though I felt a little overkill. I'm pretty sure Austin had harmed others who touched her, but IDK. The fact they could barely keep their hands off each other to at least get to their bedroom reminded me of a teenager, which is even funnier when I remember they're older than me and going through these feelings.

K.F. Breene does it again with another installment to this funny series. This is the second series I've read from her, and I thoroughly enjoy her inept leading ladies who are a hot mess but inspire others to form a rag tag team of badasses.

This series is just so much fun! Magical Midlife Meeting is another strong installment in the Leveling Up series. The banter and situational comedy provide plenty of laugh out loud moments, as do the zany characters. Austin Steele is peak boyfriend material, and Jacinta is such a strong, likeable, relatable heroine. I'm excited that there are a few more stories ahead in this series.
