The book instantly hooked me and I wanted to love it, but I found it to be pretty heavy-handed and didactic as it went on. I found the last quarter of the book to be rushed and had a hard time suspending disbelief. Overall I loved the setting and enjoyed taking the book with me on vacation, but I’m not sure I’d recommend it to others.

I loved how this started, but it became a bit of a slog for me. There are some brilliant themes & topics happening within the story, but the execution just didn’t quite get me there.
