this pleasantly surprised me because I really thought I had figured out the twist but hadn't. that said, I did find it a little bit underwhelming at times but overall super fun and suspenseful. 3.75/5

Meh. Fell for the hype on this one and it just was a little flat for me. Lots of telling/narration vs. showing/doing in this one. And while I think the premise is interesting, I felt like there were a lot of missing parts- Evie’s childhood and mom were referenced a lot but there wasn’t much meat there, for example. I didn’t mind the back and forth between timelines and jobs, and I didnt see the twist coming, but I also didn’t feel like all the parts were tied together nicely in the end- it felt rushed. Honestly, I sort of lost interest by the end so maybe that’s why.

Felt slower than I thought it would be. There was one twist that got me! But I feel like some of the logistics and were just too far fetched. Like she had the world’s best hacker just working with her?
This was a fun thriller-is that possible?
Slightly predictable but I enjoyed each page.

It started off intriguing and kept me engaged throughout the entire book! I’m excited to read what’s next by this author!
