I liked this book. But I will say the majority of it, I was pissed off. I don’t know personally what a victim of DV goes through but I will say from what I’ve been told this does describe it well. This has VERY dark themes please check your triggers!

Review : i know some people don’t understand why RIVER MAKES THE THE CHOICES SHE MAKES BUT I do. Have i experienced what she has?? no . But can i understand her ? yes . River literally has grown up being abused and raped . - HER BEING IN AN abusive relationship & being abused by ryan is something anyone even if they havent grown up the way River has can experience. You might ask yourself Why doesnt she just leave Ryan? Why doesnt she just run away?? Why does she keep coming back to ryan?? ( because she is afraid of him) She thinks its her fault . SHE believes that she deserves it . She thinks thaT EVERYTHING ANYONE ELSE OR RYAN HAS DONE TO HER IS HER FAULT & she believes it . - She is a very strong lead - yes she makes stupid decisions definitely BUT ANYONE IN HER POSITION WOULD. She is scared and afraid .
I ALSO FEEL THIS BOOK & does it hurt should be books that are promoted more than the cat & mouse duet because does it hurt & this book are two of my fave dark romances ever . I think this book is a must read
This book is not your typical romance and is not for the faint hearted . It really is a heartbreaking one ( With a happy ending. - it has triggers such as abuse , domestic violence , domestic abuse , incest ( Unknown at the time) - & its rape . Rape , child abuse, sexual abuse,kidnapping , torture,death, knife play, trauma.- it 100% will not be for everyone but Its definitely one i reccommend to any seasoned dark romance reader who wants an emotional dark romance .
The fmc RIVER STARTS OFF IN AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP AND STAYS IN THAT RELATIONSHIP FOR 65% of the books . This book really does a good job of portraying what some woman in domestic abuse situations/ abusive relationships think & feel & the actions some of them take

Know your triggers. I went into this book blind and didn’t expect a lot of this. However I still thoroughly enjoyed it and parts were healing to me. The first half of this book is the FMC goes through serious DV and other traumatic situations.
