Enjoyed this even more than the first one.

★★★★½ -- Pandemonium is a fantastic sequel, well worth the wait. It is a well-crafted page-turner chock full of action, survival, rebellion, emotion and romance. The new characters introduced in this novel are interesting and have just the right amount of depth. Lena's development is fierce and believable. She forges ahead, strong and determined to figure out who the real Lena is after everything that has shaped her. Just when she thinks she's about certain, life throws another giant wrench in her way. The cliffhanger at the end of this novel is to die for.

One storytelling technique I really like when it is well done is that of alternating between the past and the present. I think it can be a very efficient, exciting way to tell a backstory. Oliver uses the technique seamlessly in this novel. Pandemonium begins directly where the events of Delirium left off. These chapters form the "then" chapters. The other half of the story begins with Lena on a mission, forming the "now" chapters. The events that take place during these chapters still occur in chronological order. The threads of this story are braided, each alternating to come forth and tell a part of Lena's story. The transitions are well-timed and make a lot of sense.

I'd recommend Pandemonium to anyone that read Delirium. This sequel is well worth your while.

The beginning is very slow and hard to get into. But once you hit the middle, it is a never ending roller coaster until the last word. Quite literally, you'll know what I mean.

I really wish I could give half stars on goodreads, because this book would likely get a 3.5/5. I didn't like it quite as much as the first book, and I found the difference in pacing between the two rather jarring. Even still, it was a rather enjoyable read, and I'm disappointed that I have to wait a whole year for the next one!

This book was so good! It's told in a back and forth way; it isn't linear. This works really well for the book.

My thoughts.
How was this book even related to the first? It was Just woah, so much better. I'll do a little comparison
1. Lena.
Book one Lena was just so bland. Seriously she was such a boring typically oblivious character. which is actually something I didn't have a big issue with. Look I get it, the society sucks and everyone believes the "cure" is the best thing ever. It wasn't that she was completely boring she was just nothing special.
Book two Lena was awesome. She was completely changed and didn't do too many stupid things ;)

2. Love interests
The love interests in book one was Alex. I didn't find myself connecting with him. I definitely didn't think Lena and him were anything special. Overall I thought their "romance" was just bland.
Book two. JULIAN JULIAN JULIAN. Now I know book 3 has a love triangle and she'll probs end up with Alex but oh boy. JULIAN I GOT. The relationship seemed to develop naturally. Definitely was rooting for them.
Also the part when Alex, whom they thought was dead shows up at the end had me cracking up. He's so upset that Lena has actually moved on with her life and has. *gasp a boyfriend! Seriously dude, it's been a year.

3.plot
I thought book one was so boring. Nothing happened until the very end and than by then I wasn't even into it.
Where as, book two was jam packed with action! I loved the "then" and "now" way it formatted. It was just so good. Pretty predictable but at least it kept me interested. I can say that there wasn't a single boring moment in this book.

All in all I give it a three because it was good but in a sort of average way.

I got so caught up in this, only to realize the third hasn't been released yet. I'm anxiously waiting!
