I did enjoy this story, and it's going deeper than I expected it to, but I must confess, I did get a little annoyed with the way the main character was brought to tears by nearly everything that happened to her. The first few times, it was meaningful, but it just got...old. It lost its impact--it just happened too often. And it cheapened the emotional impact of the story.
But I did enjoy the plot of this story.

omg, so much better than the first book. It was actually interesting and now I want to read the 3rd book but we don't have it in the library. It ends on a cliffhanger which is so annoying.

ummm... I don't really know what to say.
I mean, it was okay. It just missed a little umph. Lena didn't have much of a personality and while I did enjoy Julian, I thought he acted a little too young for his age. This plot was okay and while I liked how it jumped back in time and then back to the present, I thought it lacked suspense. Except for, like, the last 10 pages. Yes, things happen, and yes there are a lot of things that happen but it never really leads to anything major. Maybe it will later on in the next novel, but half the time I was like: Ok, it's good, but... why? Why not kill someone or injure someone or something?
Also, the writing... it was okay. I got used to it. I mean... I just finished reading a Cassie Clare book, so maybe I just felt the huge gap between both style. This is really simplistic and while it made the book really easy to read, it also maybe it seem more child-like.

4.5 stars for me--what a captivating installment!
Julian to Lena "I think you've given it to me." he says slightly out of breath. The deliria!"
Boy, that was it right there. So I am declaring right now...TEAM JULIAN!!!!
This book started in the wild, where a group had found Lena and nursed her back to health. Then they gave her a cause to believe in and fight for. Gone was the clueless girl, but a young woman eager to learn and participate.
Unfortunately, Lena runs into the dogmatic issues that often plague resistance groups. Who is the real bad guy? Secrecy and Manipulative "by all means necessary" mottos and "sacrifice one for the cause" type of thinking made Lena rethink her allegiance. Lena begins to think for herself and asks herself why is she doing this? What does Lena want? What was her purpose in agreeing to the come the wild? Now Lena is observant, a little fearless or at least she fights inspite of her fears, and she is smart. I can't wait for Book 3. this love triangle is just like the Hunger Games triangle, but I am intrigued at how the author will pull this one off.
The author did a great job with the imagery, emotion, cohesion and storytelling in this installment. I was a little unsure if I wanted to continue after Delirium (book 1) but now I am so glad that I did. I can't wait for Requiem in 2013. The author really pulled the threads together in this book.

Spoiler
Julian was an unexpected surprise for me. Bravo to the author. She took an unlikable guy and flipped him. While I liked Alex, the relationship with Julian was part of Lena metamorphisis from the Naive/clueless Lena to the Aware/Feisty Lena. I don't know if nuAlex will mesh with nuLena. The author did a great job with the imagery, emotion, cohesion and storytelling in this installment. I was a little unsure if I wanted to continue after Delirium (book 1) but now I am so glad that I did. I can't wait for Requiem in 2013. The author really pulled the threads together in this book.
In this book you learn what how life is like outside the fence. I really enjoyed leaning about it. There is a mysteriousness world out there that waiting to be discovered. What separates this book form the last one is that outside the fence and Alex is inside. And of course she falls in love with another dude. Also what made me enjoy this book is that Lena character develop alot in this book she has changed.
What made me hate this book is that there was a cliffhanger like come on I am going to die if I don't get to the next book soon. This book goes back and forth from then to now and repeat really liked how the author wrote this book. I just loved this book over all. I also liked this just a bit more than Delirium. It was the epic sequel to an epic love story and I really was happy that I read these books back to back and then I have to wait a year to read the last book.
Amazing series so far can't wait to read the third book to finish the trilogy.

This book was a disappointment to me. Don't get me wrong, I think that Lauren Oliver is an amazing author, but the plot just didn't go in the way I was hoping. I feel like the whole storyline was changed. In the first book, Delirium, Alex shows Lena that love isn't bad... But in this book, she's off with another guy, forgetting about Alex because she believes he's dead (based on such little evidence!!!). So now we know there is going to be this whole love triangle thing. Of course I'll be reading the next book, to find out what happens. I'm just hoping it will redeem itself.
I can't believe how amazing this book was. The action was great, the more the story got the better the action became. I was initially thrown off by the now and then writing style but i grew to love it. This book was hands down amazing. I cried and laughed. I can't wait for the next book which won't be out till February 2013. Lauren Oliver out did herself with the return and departure of characters, the description that sucked you in as you kept reading. I literally read could not put the book down, which sucked because i read it in a matter of 5 hours, and i wanted it to last longer. TWO THUMBS UP!
