I found the main character super annoying in this one and everything in the plot seemed super convenient. She shouldn’t have fallen in love with Julian that doesn’t make sense, it was rushed and was only there for the pointless love triangle that was so popular when this book was first written.
I didn’t like this book near as much as the first book. Like what’s up with Lana just “falling in love” with the first boy she meets. Going to read the third book just to see how it all ends.
Oh. My. Sweet. Lord. Baby. Jesus. I can't even explain this feeling I have going on. I'm in complete shock.
Everyone kept reviewing "Love-triangle", "obvious love triangle!" and throughout the whole book I'm like "Where the f*ck is the love triangle guys!?! I can't see it!!"
Little did I know it was on the damn last page. Holy shit. I am completely in love with this series. Why? Because I love series that have you running with them and then-BAM! Lemme throw in this darn wall made of brick called "bet you didn't see that coming!" No, Ms. Oliver I did not. Like at all. Like I was okay with Julian and Lena, and did NOT see that coming. So, yeah, Ms. Oliver I think I love you so you are now my new favorite person in this world.
Seriously, people. Read the book. Don't be like me, who put off reading this series til this month. Because now I regret all the times I could have been re-reading this exquisite series!

Okay...
So, I spent the all book waiting for Alex to came back...and what happens he shows up in the last page!!!!! REALLY?!
But the worst is that Lena spent all that time thinking Alex was dead, then she meets Julian(hot guy by the away), she saves his life, his saves her life and once again she saves his life, conclusion he falls in love with her...and she actually likes him and while they kiss I'm like: I like you Julian but TEAM ALEX.
That last part....jesus...WHYYY??
Julian: Promise we'll stay together, okay?
Lena: Okay.
.....
ALEX SHOWS UP!!!! BANG, I'M DEAD.

First of all Sarah Drew, is one of my all time favorite narrators. Second, this book was equally, if not better, than the first. I liked that it was told from the past and present. I also liked that the story kept you on your toes. You never really knew what was going to happen next which was very exciting. I loved this book.
This book is the single most heartbreaking book I've ever read (not including Shadow Kiss). I actually cried at the end because I just knew... I just knew it was coming and I was like Lena! You cannot love Julian! But of course things happen that you don't want. And now I'm in tears because Alex is alive and Lena loves Julian as well and I can't... Lauren Oliver thanks for breaking my heart omg.

Oliver does not disappoint in this second novel of her Delirium Trilogy. This book takes up where it left off in the first one, and readers get to see Lena change and grow into a person who become part of the resistance. We see her become a stronger person who can still love.
New characters are introduced and become important characters to this book. As much as I enjoy having new characters, I was bummed out that we as readers missed out on the old characters from the first book.
Of course, because of what happens from the first book, Lena meets a new guy, Julian who will become another love interest of hers, and readers get to see how they grow closer to one another.
I liked that each chapter goes back and forth from the past (when Lena learns to adapt in the Wilds) to the present (her living as a new Lena in NYC and helping with the resistance). It leaves you wanting to continue reading more with every chapter.
Many things occur and this book is filled with love, action, and of course, surprises!
The ending is a huge shock and will make you want to go straight to the third book because I sure do!

Initial Reaction After Finishing This Book:

OH MY GOD. My life. It has just disappeared. Right in front of my eyes. Lauren Oliver... I can't even.... ARGH I'm just gonna review this. And let's make it different from my usual review. No good or bad or categories. Just chunks of text. :)
Throughout the first half of this book, I wanted to bawl my eyes out. Remembering the loss of Alex was like reopening an old wound. It hurt so bad. And Lauren Oliver willingly stabs you through the heart with mention of Alex EVERY DAMN CHANCE she gets. For example, this:
“Love, the deadliest of all deadly things. It kills you.Alex.When you have it.Alex.And when you don't.Alex.”
Is that not ASKING for you to cry? Even the descriptions of leaves changing for fall, left a subtle reminder of Alex, who's hair was described as the color of leaves turning in the fall.
Speaking descriptions, can we just talk about Lauren Oliver's writing for a minute? It's beautiful. And the depth of thought is OUTSTANDING.
“Sometimes I feel like if you just watch things, just sit still and let the world exist in front of you - sometimes I swear that just for a second time freezes and the world pauses in its tilt. Just for a second. And if you somehow found a way to live in that second, then you would live forever.”
I mean come on. You can't NOT stop and think about that quote.
Anyway, the plot. So, after Lena crosses the fence into the Wilds, she just runs. Because that's what the last thing Alex said to her was. To run. She passes out, and when she comes to, it turns out that some Invalids who have set up a homestead have taken her in and nursed her back to health. Throughout maybe the first 100 or so pages, Lena is just learning her way around, getting healthy again, working at the homestead, and pushing. Pushing away the memories, and pushing herself to work harder. And then this whole thing happens and she's on the other side of the fence back with the zombies and I'm all like, "Wait. What?" But then it gets straightened out that she's doing some undercover spying for the DFA, or Deliria-free-America. The head of the DFA is Thomas Fineman, and his son is Julian Fineman. Oh, Julian.
Before I read this book, I couldn't imagine loving Julian. I knew he came in this book, and I knew him and Lena would fall in love, but I couldn't stop thinking of Alex, and how it would almost be betraying my love for him. But Julian, with his sweet innocence and his bright, piercing eyes caught my heart. I still love Alex, but I love Julian too! I'm not sure if Lena loves Julian for realsies though, or if she's just trying to replace Alex with somebody, but either way, I'm excited for how Lauren Oliver resolves the love triangle.
This, I need to address. That ending. DAMN IT Lauren Oliver. How could you be so heartless? It's quite obvious that at the end of Delirium, Alex is dead. Come on! The way Lena describes a bunch of people jumping on top of him? You can't possibly hold on to one, single, shredded, pathetic ounce of hope that he's still alive. So then you meet Julian, and you think, "Okay...this could work! I can give my heart to Julian now since Alex is dead!" And then Lauren Oliver shakes her finger like Dikembe Mutombo:

And BAM! Brings Alex back from the dead. At the very freaking end of the book. And then she ends it. I can't even... Lauren Oliver...

So I gave this book five stars for the beautiful writing, the amazing new characters, and the edge-of-your-seat-action-packed plot, and an EVIL, yet amazing ending. On a cliffhanger.
