What a mess! Lena is in deep shit. I have been avoiding this book ever since i read delirium because I don't own Requiem... and as I expected I should have waited because the ending was just..
Unfortunately for me I like Julian better... and it just breaks my heart to know that Lena and Julian won't happen.
I need to buy Requiem NOW like NOWWW
Pandemonium had so many amazing scenes and what I love the most about Lauren Oliver is how her writing manages to be depressing yet not too depressing. It's formal, yet not too formal. I really like her writing style. I seriously could not put the book down because she ends every Now with a cliffhanger and i have to go through the Then and i literally could not stop.
WHERE IS HANNA? I MISS HANNA SO MUCH DAMMIT.
Honestly, I enjoyed this one more than Delirium... I don't know why but I think its because of Julian.
Did I mention how unlucky I am to be on Julian's side not Alex's because we all know what will happen.
Today I was thinking about living in a world like delirium's and it scared the shit out of me, it is one of my worst nightmares, a world like that, could kill me.
I seriously love the concept of the world though... the whole Deliria Nervosa is fab (reminds me of 1984 just a bit)
Overall, I can't wait to put my greedy hands on Requiem
(No Yara you have to study... No time to write down your favorite scenes in the book FOR FUCK'S SAKE YOU ALREADY BOOKMARKED THEM )

It was better than the first book, in my opinion. We see how Lena adjusts in the Wild in one chapter (the past), and see how much she’s changed in the next chapter (the present). We also meet Julian who I truly love! And then the twist in the end. Nice.

The second book in the Delirium trilogy picks up Lena's story as she carves out a life for herself in The Wilds; joining the resistance and fighting for the power to choose. Lauren Oliver's second novel jumps back and forth between current events, and Lena's time spent in the invalid encampment. A sudden turn of events sees Lena captured along with the mayor's son Julien, and in order to survive Lena will have to put her trust in the one person she's been conditioned to hate. As Lena and Julien desperately try to escape the clutches of the Scavengers, their relationship evolves and changes along with Julien's views on the world..."I wonder if this is how people always get close: They heal each other's wounds; they repair the broken skin." Will their time spent trapped in the abandoned underground of Portland earn Lena a friend or a very powerful enemy?

***This review contains spoilers of Delirium, the first book in this series***
I loved the first book in this series, Delirium, so much that I couldn't wait for this book to be released. Delirium ends in a bit of a cliffhanger and I couldn't wait to see what Oliver did next and how she was going to resolve some of the issues presented in the first novel. Well, I have to say that I waiting for what seemed like forever to find out what happens to Alex and when I finally had the book in my hands reading it, it seemed like I had to wait even longer to find out what happened to him. That drove me bananas but it also kept me reading. So while I found it to be irritating at times, Oliver does know how to captivate her readers' attention.
This book goes back and forth between right after book one and a little bit in the future. Lena is struggling to fit into this new world and she is also dealing with some pretty heavy emotions about Alex and leaving everything she has ever known behind. One thing I really liked in this novel is the world-building. I feel like I have a better sense of the society that Lena lives in after reading this novel. In Delirium, Lena is pretty sheltered and, as a reader, we only get to experience this dystopian society as Lena experiences it. Needless to say, at the end of book one we know a bit about the world that the characters live in but not too much. There is a whole other part to society that isn't discussed in the first book. I love that Oliver is able to expand her world in such an interesting way.
I think second books are always difficult to read because there isn't a huge lead up like there is in book one and there isn't a conclusion like there usually is in book three. That being said, Oliver does a great job of keeping things interesting. She introduces some new characters but she also allows for some appearances of old characters.
I have to admit though that when I got the end of the book I wanted to throw it across the room. It also ends on a bit of a cliffhanger and I think this is quickly becoming one of my pet peeves in YA literature. I know that many YA novels are part of a series but I like it when things wrap up nicely and I hate having to wait to find out what happens in a story. I read quite a bit and by the time the next novel comes out oftentimes I forget some of what happened in the previous novels. Oh well, you better believe that I will be lining up to get the next installment of this series as soon as it comes out. Overall I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

REREAD — Wow. Oliver's writing is just so beautiful. Her prose flows with such precision and elegance and I find myself constantly captivated by her imagery. The contrasting timelines that eventually catch up to each other were so incredibly clever -- it allows us not to be rushed through Lena's character development and experiences. I loved being part of Lena's journey and I feel so connected to her as an empathetic, intuitive, strong and open-hearted individual. My heart was racing long after I finished as I still felt part of her story. This is a major improvement from the first book and I look forward to re-reading the last.
This is the second book in the series. I liked this book too. The love story was more complicated and it seemed more action packed. I had trouble with the book alternating between past and present every chapter. But I did enjoy it. I like the direction it went in. It was really good.
OH. MY. GOD. I AM GOING TO DIE. WHAT WAS THAT ENDING??????????????? AKSLDJGAOWIGHWOINBOAHWOWHPOAHEIGH
I forgot to review this before I read book 3. But the ending was great. Once they said someone who escaped from Portland I knew who it was but I loved that twist. I definitely liked book 2 more than book 1.
Oh fuck me.This was one hell of a journey and i am looking forword to how this will end.And that thing at the end man,i can't even talk i am so overwhelmed.I was truly not expecting it
OH MY GOD NOT AGAIN. The book was so captivating I could not put it down!! The story was quick and I felt like I was there! But I swear this woman knows how to write an ending that knocks the wind out of me. Literally. I can never trust the ending again, but it was still equally phenomenal.
