Dafuq did I just read? A Hunger Games book? This book was so different from the first one, it's hilarious. The character of Lena just totally changed. Hopefully book three will be better.

Couldn’t the author keep Alex dead :/ I like Julian and there’s nothing I hate more in books than love triangles

NOOOOOOOOO! GOD. Why did this book have to end? I absolutely love this book. As I got closer to the end I couldn't believe it was going to end and it freaking end with a fucking cliffhanger. I knew that the book was going to end like that because I read the last sentence which is only one word but NO! It can't just make me wait another year or so for the final book.

May be better than the first book! The beginning is a little slow going with the unsettling knowledge that Alex is gone, but keep going! The ending might top the first book!

I enjoyed this one, if not quite as much as the first. The time switching format was a little meh for me, and I found the timeframe to be very compressed--somehow less than a year has passed since the beginning of the first book to the end of the second book. Lena was both better and worse in this book. I felt like she got to shine a little more as she grows into her non-brainwashed self, but the number of times she is rescued at literally the nick of time is excessive. I think it happens like three back-to-back chapters at one point.

Re: the ending
SpoilerIt seemed obvious to me from the start that Lena would find a new love and then Alex would turn up alive. It felt a little gimmicky and cheap, IMO. We'll just have to wait and see how it plays out....
