What can I say? I always love Agatha Christie.

The story itself isn't what you’d call gratifying plot wise, although it's indeed clever, but I enjoyed the reading while trying to discover who the suspect was myself.

It doesn’t help that the 1982 film adaptation improves on it significantly in every possible way, but it feels a little scattershot and bland.

This is the Agatha Christie I remember reading from my junior high years! The melodrama is toned down from the Mystery on the Links and Crooked House, and the crime detection is at the forefront. The writing is subtler with multiple pov which helps to build the suspense and give clues. The murderer motive is still a little murky, but the classic denouement of Poirot's "parlor scene" is there.
