I love Agatha Christie, and this book is one of the best... they all have twists and turns in the plot but this one is so unexpected!

"One arranges very methodically the pieces of the puzzle -one sorts the colours- and then perhaps a piece of one colour that should fit in with -say, the fur rug, fits in instead in a black cat's tail."

A secluded seaside resort in Devon, England. A dozen or so guests holidaying, a murder and of course, Hercule Poirot. It's a classic Christie puzzle plot and I can’t say I was disappointed!

An attractive woman is found murdered on the Cove, leaving everyone under suspicion. Her husband, step daughter, rumoured lover, his wife.. everyone seemed with a motive or profit. It could be passion or something more clever.

Even before the murder took place, I had started looking for clues and subtle hints of observations Poirot style🙈 but I have to admit I couldn’t place my bet on one particular person and I would have never guessed the reason!

I read most of it in one sitting, that’s how absorbed I was in this tangled mystery. It kept me guessing till Porot himself revealed the murderer.

Utterly refreshing!

Ever since I was a teenager, I loved Agatha Christie's novels; and this one didn't let me down.

As far as I remember — because I haven't read her books in a very long time — I found extremely interesting the development of the case, but in this specific book that wasn't much of a case… Nevertheless, it was really good.

I must say that I almost got pranked! Towards the end, I thought that the end might be really predictable, but the author abilities shut my mouth up once again.

Good mystery that I didn’t guess but when everything was revealed made since and didn’t feel rushed.

Perhaps not one of the most riveting of Poirot's cases nonetheless Evil under the Sun is another classic addition to Agatha Christie's flawless bibliography. However the solution to the case may take a lot of convincing to be feasible. I read Christie for escapism and enjoyment and it delivered on both.

Un classico nei classici. Una delle mie ambientazioni preferite e una soluzione intrigante e soddisfacente. Gli indizi per arrivare alla soluzione erano tutti chiari e presenti, eppure il finale richiede una certa dose di creatività. Meraviglioso.

A classic among the classics. This island resort is one of my favorite setting and the solution to the mystery was intriguing and satisfying. The clues were all present and clear and yet the finale requires a certain predisposition to creativity. Wonderful.

Not my favourite of Christie’s. Felt slightly uneasy about the misogynistic comments from Poirot
