as an avid reader of the sherlock holmes stories i did have my reservations at first. now i‘m happy to announce: i loved this book and i look forward to reading many more of poirot‘s cases.
in the beginning the amount of characters was a little overwhelming. compared to the holmes novels, where you often only have few people in each story. but i definitely see the appeal in having a large cast: you get to see people‘s motives, their relationships to the victim, etc.
in the end i never would have guessed the true murderer of arlene marshall, i was totally off. :“)
