The setting of this was fascinating--platforms suspended in Jupiter's atmosphere where humans have relocated after Earth becomes uninhabitable. It's another story told by the Watson of the book, but I really enjoyed Pleiti's essential contributions to the case. Mossa drove me affectionately crazy, much like Pleiti. Will be reading the sequel soon.

They weren't kidding about the Holmesian feel even though it's set on a colony on Jupiter. It's mostly the formal language used (especially Mossa calling Pleiti "my dear Pleiti), but there is also a fairly interesting mystery (or two or three) to be solved. I think I was more invested in the worldbuilding than the mystery.

Will definitely be reading book 2!

I had a really good time reading this! It was a perfect cozy mystery; some tension to keep you interested, but not so much that it got scary.
I really liked the atmosphere, with all of the fog and the storms. It had a very moody and autumnal vibe, especially with parts of it set in the university area. The world building was very cool as well, excited to read more of this series!

The world building was so gradual but it somehow worked.
