Finally I get to hear Roland's story! So much of this was great, as usual King's physical descriptions are so evocative, you really see this world. I only wish that he had spent a bit more time with his fellow gunslingers, because I wanted to like them a lot more than I did.

This may be my least favorite of the 7 books. Like DiscWorld, the Dark Tower is a fall back when I can't find anything else I want to read, but Roland's time in Mejis was only really interesting to me the first time through.
