As delightful and strange as ever.

this series is so good ! i am glad i am mentally ill so i can fully appreciate and understand it - i really enjoyed the symbolism of winter and how pun pun was begging for the end of winter even when spring was just around the corner. truly a great read, i hope the best for the uncle. i feel like i need to unpack the way in which he thinks, because it definitely follows along with my same thoughts at times, so i should reread and fully understand it so i can connect with it more. anyways. onto the next volume

Series takes a darker turn here, indicative of how the series becomes later. Probably the weakest volume along with 4 but by no means bad.

This was considerably darker than the first volume, which was already pretty dark. A large chunk of this volume focused on Punpun’s uncle, Yuuichi, and his relationship with
a teenage girl he mentored as a pottery instructor. His flashbacks show how that girl’s mother was abusive, so that pretty sad. And although he had a girlfriend at the time, he was still attracted to that teenager. It turned out that the girl manipulated both him and his co-worker, so things got pretty messed up.
Besides that, there was a lot of teenage/middle schooler drama with Punpun and Aiko. Aiko got her first
boyfriend. Yaguchi is probably the most wholesome character so far and I actually like him a lot!
Punpun can be dramatic and whiny, but I don’t really blame him.
