I still am finding this series to be an interesting exploration of childhood trauma, especially as it has expanded to encompass a variety of different childhoods rather than just Punpun's. I think that getting these moments with Punpun's friends really grants the story an element of reality that it was otherwise lacking. Despite this, there are a few moments that just feel a bit cartoonish in their intensity, seemingly making the worst things happen to hurt the characters as much as possible, which I think disconnects me a bit from their emotions. I also don't think I love how women are being treated in this series, especially in reguards to Punpun's uncle. It seems like many of our primary female characters only exist to serve the development of men, to the point where their behavior feels unrealistic. I am going to continue on, but I still don't think this story will be a complete hit for me.
emotional medium-paced

A disturbing coming-of-age story that is comical, utterly strange, and poignant at the same time.

I don't know. It felt better than the first volume, but that is a non-achievement. I think that it is weird that this is suddently about Punpun and his uncle, but maybe the writer just started to run out of ideas. I just hope it will be better later.

Title:

Page 416 (yeah, even tho it is volume 2 of omnibus)

Notes:

We love it when men decide for women who they should be with.

The objectification of women truly never stops here, huh.

If you wonder why this is tagged for racism, the same black character is used whenever there is just a random person, who appears on the screen if they are not just a blank space.
