AWFUL! Another reviewer said " the most interesting stuff was the mystery part of it for me " - and I agree, it's the only reason I raced through this drek to see how it all played it out. The major problem is that author was MUCH more interested in writing about the sex. The book's genre is described as "romantic suspense", but there's zero romance. LOTS of sex, and even more thinking about sex, and talking about sex, to the extent that the real mystery is how any actual mystery-solving got done. The phrase "the male gaze" is apt here, but the iverse is also true. This 323 page book could have been half as long if every page didn't contain at least 1 long paragraph with one or other (often both) the leads fantasising about the appearance of the other, and how desperately they needed to have sex with them. Ho hum.
Concrete Evidence hat alles, was ich mir von tollem Romantic Thrill erwarte: Spannung, Drama und Liebe ♥ :)

An exciting, suspenseful story with interesting angles and shocking revelations. A great deal of the story points are based on actual events in American history which makes it all the more intriguing. The premise of a 32 year old successful computer genius/businessman posing as a lazy, incompetent 25 year old intern is more than a little ridiculous...the heroine would have to be amazingly stupid to buy that. But if you can ignore that plot point the story is a thrill ride. I loved the ending...reminiscent of the similar ending to a JD Robb In Death book...and it's a great device. I have so much fun imagining it really happening.
Giving up at 27%. The plot line is too convoluted and the MCs not interesting enough.

This is the first Rachel Grant book I have read. I received this book as part of a Goodreads giveaway.
This book is a great read for anyone who loves the romantic suspense genre. I totally enjoyed the twist and turns that just kept coming right up to the end.
Erica Kesling has been accused of stealing artifacts from a 500 year old shipwreck, Her life has been turned upside down and now she is out to clear her name by proving she didn't steal the artifacts. There is also the matter of a little revenge.
Lee Scott has been brought in by Talon & Drake to investigate who is smuggling international artifacts. They know someone in the company is guilty and the they investigate the more Erica is looking like a prime suspect.
They each have an agenda that must be kept from the other, but the attraction between them is making it hard to keep from getting distracted. Will the lies they are telling each other make it impossible for them to trust each other?
I am looking forward to reading the next book by Rachel Grant.

Ostensibly romantic suspense, Concrete Evidence was stronger on plot and lighter on romance than most books in the genre, which made for a nice change. There's lots of fascinating information thrown into the book, from a strange kind of cement that expands as it sets to Native American history. I enjoyed both of our protagonists and most of the plot as well.
I did find that the flow of the story was a bit jerky. Three-quarters of the way through, I felt like we'd reached the big climax from a character standpoint, and the author still spent a lot of pages wrapping up the other plot line. However, I was willing to overlook that due to the books' strengths in so many other departments.

This was pretty darned good. I got a little frustrated with the layers of secrecy, but it sure did keep the tension nice and tight! It's exciting all the way to end, too. This is free in ebook from amazon, and good enough that I added the next one to my wish list. I mean, Erika goes through a lot, but when push comes to shove she is a hero. More than once. My kind of lady.
