i enjoyed this book despite itself? like reading it without critical goggles, it was quite a wild ride (international shenanigans! friend drama! elopements!) and a lot of fun. thinking about it later, though, wow. there was a hell of a lot of things going on (the child bride, samir being a complete and total asshole and not really needing to work as hard for his redemption as the narrative should have made him) that ruined some of that breathless enjoyment and envelopment in the story. i'm hopeful that dev's next book has a different take on the hero and heroine, because i did love her writing.

Interesting. I found this author while weeding the fiction section. I'll definitely read more of her books!

I loved this book. I can't really say why, because the entire premise normally would be a turn off. I hate lying heroes who get the heroines to trust them. I usually feel really worried and scared for her,no matter the hero's motives. And I hate perfect, Mary Sue heroines. But somehow, in this instance, it worked. Maybe because the heroine is feisty and smart and cries unashamedly all of the time. Oh, and she's short. And the hero feels like crap all of the time he's being deceptive. Being inside his head helped.
fast-paced

I really enjoyed this fun, fast-paced romance with a fully fleshed out cast of characters. It felt like the author knew what she was talking about, as she described life in India and the U.S., familial relationships, prejudice, cultural conflicts, wealth disparities, and of course, the drama of Bollywood. Lovely writing, too.

I enjoyed the longing shown in this romance book. Milli thinks she is going to finally meet and be good enough for her husband, a husband she has not seen for 20+years. Little does she know, that she will fall for his brother.

Difficult topics (extreme child marriage) (arranged marriages) started this series.
Wonder about the consequences for those legal letters from her ?grandma?
Also parental loss.

Took a while to come together, wasn't sure about the ending until, well, the end.
