I've read "Blood on Her Tongue" and enjoyed it, so I was really excited to read "My Darling Dreadful Thing" and it did not disappoint! I thought that this book was super interesting, both in plot and how it was laid out. I was incredibly invested in the story of Roos and what was being alluded to in the case studies, which made me even more excited to get further in the story.
I really liked the characters, I think that Roos and Agnes and even Willemijn were interesting characters with their individual motivations and how the story unfolded to reveal the backstory. I also loved Roos and Agnes' relationships with not only their own spirits, but each other's spirits as well.
I think the way that the story itself was told made it more interesting, especially with the case study excerpts at the end of some chapters. I think Roos telling the story and seeing the story from the doctor's perspective added to the intrigue.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, as I expected I would. I would absolutely recommend reading it!
