The liked the beginning and middle. There were some parts which were VERY rushed but understandably so.
But the ENDING. My poor feelings. It hurt! In the way you have to stop whatever you are doing at the moment and stare at the wall

Slow first third but kept me gripped after that! A really well-written historical fiction novel. I really rooted for Lucius. Of course I wish that there had been a happy ending, but there is no doubt that there is something poetic about the man that haunted Lucius ending up with the woman Lucius had been searching for for all that time. If you like The Pianist (Wladyslaw Szpilman), Maus (Art Spiegelman), or other stories set during WWI or WWII, definitely check this one out.

Minor: Violence and Gore
If you don't mind medical descriptions of war injuries, you should be fine.
