I am really enjoying this series. I like that the lgbt+ characters are not overdone and are generally accepted into the community. There is no excessive shock and their lives, other than the occasional murder, feel normal. That the romance is subdued so much does not bother me, as it seems to some readers.
ok the accused of murder can only be used twice. And man am I liking this main character.

Again another lovely little cosy mystery. It seemed to take a while before the crime happened and then before much investigating was done the killer revealed themselves. Could have definitely done with another chapter or two so we could have a little bit more intrigue. The bit about cyrus working at the bank came out of nowhere! I don't know how Brandon could have known that or known about the affair when he had just arrived?

I really enjoy this series. The murder mystery was good fun. The romance is definitely there, but it's handled well and doesn't distract from the story or stress me out.
