Well written and to the point. My immediate thought when finishing the book was "boy I'm glad I have kept my young children offline".

Going into this one, I knew quite a bit about the criminal case so I was eager to learn more backstory and what it was like day-to-day in the Franke house. While parts of this were very interesting, it just felt a little flat for me. I think memoirs are hard, and generally the longer someone has had to process the better they are able to convey their experiences and it's clear Shari is still very much in the recovery phase. I just think waiting a few more years would have brushed off some of her naïveté and allowed more time and space for healing from her years of suffering and abuse. Her writing style was a little too flowery for me, but this was a quick read and worth it if you have interest in the story.
