I loved this book more than the first of the series. I fell more in love with the characters and loved how we got to learn more of Elizabeth’s history (and badassness) and see Joyce really come into her own a bit. Joyce’s diary entries always had me laughing as well, her internal dialogue is so funny to me. I loved reading more about Elizabeth & Stephen and their love story as well. The witness of Ron & Ibrahim’s unlikely friendship was lovely to witness and I enjoyed reading what Ron was capable of doing for the people he loved. I thought it was well done to show Ibrahim’s weakness despite the fact that he is one of the more prestigious characters.

We witnessed more camaraderie between the main characters and everything just felt more connected. I knew who I could trust and who to be weary of which made it exciting as I kept reading. And the ending, the very last paragraph,  brought tears to my eyes. The first and second of this series are slower reads for me but enjoyable nonetheless.

Even more fun than the first! The plot dives in quickly, the short chapters keep it lively, and, as the series goes on, I’m finding myself more attached to the characters and their personal stories. I'm definitely picking up the third one next.

I think I’m going to enjoy this series. Well written with likable characters. Fun read!

I'd say this book is somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. I found it a rather disappointing follow up to the first book in the series. I did enjoy the humorous writing and the characters were still wonderfully written but the plot was, simply, very boring.
