This wasn’t what I was expecting. I figured it would be another story where the quirky main character decided to solve a murder, but it wasn’t that at all.

I did love Molly. She was endearing, and obviously on the spectrum. As the mother of an autistic child, that spoke to me. Understanding social cues requires so much subtlety and nuance, and it’s hard for some people to catch on. I know it’s hard for my daughter at times.

I felt so bad for Molly and so angry at the people who didn’t take the time to try to understand her. I was especially angry at the people who saw her ignorance as a way to further their own selfish pursuits.

There were some twists that I didn’t see coming, especially considering that this wasn’t a typical mystery novel.

I really liked this book. It was a fairly quick read and not a ton of shocking moments but the characters were all unique and I grew quite attached to them. A lot of reviews have called it a “cozy murder mystery” and I 100% agree!
